What is the AIA Northwest & Pacific Region? The AIA Northwest and Pacific Region (NW&PR) represents regional interests and encourages and helps to coordinate communication and collaboration within the Region and link them to the National AIA. Our region is a very unusual and diverse group of people with members from Alaska, Guam/Micronesia, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington!
What is the 2008 AIA NW&P Regional Conference? This Conference is hosted each year by one Chapter of the region, and every ~10th year it is your very own, AIA Honolulu's turn. The conference ranks up there as one of the Chapter's most significant efforts, and there is a significant amount of time and volunteer resources that are being expended to offer you a fabulous 3-day conference experience. Hawaii 2008: Crossroads of Design & Diversity offers a great opportunity for all our local members to network, attend educational sessions, awards program and more with this interesting group of people flying in from the mainland to experience our Hawaii aloha.
What can the conference offer YOU? In addition to endless networking opportunities, AIA Honolulu has invested a great deal of resources and time in providing you excellent keynote speakers to come to our island just for this one event. This gives YOU an amazing opportunity to earn most, if not all, of the AIA/CES LU's (HSW) that is needed for the entire year - from the very best - right here in your very own backyard. This will go a long way to helping you meet your biannual requirements for license renewal, and your AIA CES requirements. Read more about continuing education opportunities and keynote session speakers below.
The 3rd Annual AIA Honolulu Canstruction® competition is happening TOMORROW Saturday, August 23 from 8:00am - 2:00pm at the Pearlridge Center Uptown.
Make sure You bring your family and friends over to the Pearlridge Mall Uptown on August 23 to support and cheer on all 13 teams that signed up this year. From 8:00am - 2:00pm they are going to work very hard to "canstruct" amazing structures that will be on display at the mall for two weeks.
Voting & Donations: You have from tomorrow after 2:00pm until Saturday, September 6 when the mall closes to come down to Pearlridge and vote for your favorite structure as many times as you like. One can is one vote. The structure with the most cans will be announced the winner of the distinguished People's Choice Award in an awards ceremony on Sunday, September 7th.
Remember, One CAN equals One Vote! Make sure that you do what you CAN to help extinguish hunger in Hawai'i since the Foodbank is running low - Every CAN helps!

After this we can't wait to see all the amazing structures that will be built on Canstruction day, Saturday, August 23!

Please have patience with us as we try to work through this in a timely manner to provide you and outstanding and accurate print directory. Mahalo for your understanding and support - AIA Honolulu.
