Review of Proposed Hawaii Community Development Authority Zoning Rules
HCDA has recently released proposed rules (click for PDF) governing development standards for Kalaeloa and is soliciting feedback from the public until July 19th. The new rules use form-based zoning standards with big impacts on design. Even if you or your firm do not have any projects in Kalaeloa, this set of rules will likely form the basis of any new development standards set for new districts placed under HCDA’s authority (just as the Kaka‘ako rules formed the basis for the Kalaeloa rules). Join this discussion and weigh in on these development standards to ensure the design community has a voice in the process.
Discussion will be led by Jacob Karasik, AIA.
