This introductory course will review how lighting sources have evolved over time, how modern LED (Light Emitting Diode) and LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) sources have revolutionized the design industry, and how their many beneficial characteristics can be utilized to shape spaces and create visual interest.

This session will:

-Demonstrate how LEDs and Lasers evolved from specific applications and special effects into practical illumination sources, and the importance of safety precautions in working with Laser lighting.

-Identify the three uses of LED and Laser light sources outlined in the course, with a particular emphasis on energy saving qualities of LED vs incandescent or CFL sources.

-Explore various architectural applications of LED and Laser diode light sources and identify two ways that the quality of light properties of LED products improve health and well-being for residential and commercial environments.

  • Earn 1 AIA HSW
  • Hybrid session (choose virtual or in-person attendance)
  • Lunch provided for in-person attendees!

Presenter: Neal Polaine, West Coast Regional Sales Manager at PreciseLED
