VCBO Architecture (www.vcbo.com) is seeking an Architect II to join our remote team in Honolulu.
Experienced Architect working on a variety of projects, including programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and construction documents.
• Experience in preparing drawings, preparing preliminary design studies and adaptations of alternatives for review, contract documents including details, sections, elevations and schedules.
• Produces amendments, addenda and bulletins.
• Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions and legibility.
• Exercises creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials, including design sketches, renderings, models and graphics.
• Assists in preparing adaptations and technical alternatives for project team review.
• Knowledge of architectural detailing and current construction standards along with building systems and code compliance.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Architecture required.
• 4-7 years’ experience in architecture.
• Licensed Architect (desired, but not required),
• Strong knowledge of Autodesk Revit Architecture, SketchUp and BlueBeam.
• Experience managing others along with excellent verbal and communication skills, self-motivated, flexible to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development.
• Experience in compiling data, performing elementary design computations, performs area calculations according to specified standards.
• Knowledge of building codes.
• Able to successfully complete the permitting process with aid and supervision of a Team Leader.
• Knowledge of addenda and construction change directive procedures.
• The ability to review and respond to submittal and RFI documentation with sufficient knowledge and understanding of the project and industry.
• Experience in Revit, Sketchup and BlueBeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge and/or understanding of project management software.
